How Soon After Botox Can I Workout? | Forefront Dermatology

Botox is the most popular cosmetic surgery treatment – with over six million treatments administered every year to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Botox is also used to treat such problems as repetitive neck spasms, excessive sweating, overactive bladder and lazy eye. A common question our dermatologists are asked regarding Botox injections is how soon after Botox injections can you workout?

According to Dr. Saundra Seaman, board-certified dermatologist with Forefront Dermatology, “Please avoid exercise for 24 hours following your Botox injections. Heavy aerobic activity will cause the Botox injections to move down with gravity. When I was in residency, I injected myself with Botox and then went jogging. Trust me, it can move! I learned that lesson the hard way! Give yourself a full day of rest. Resuming the following day shouldn’t cause any problems.”
