Arm Lift
Shedding extra pounds or growing older can lead to a disappointing consequence for many people: Soft, sagging upper arm tissue that seems to defy diligent diet and exercise efforts. When this happens, an arm lift can potentially help.
Also known as brachioplasty, arm lift surgery represents a restorative option capable of redefining your arms’ contours by removing surplus skin and fat. This procedure combats the so-called “bat wing” appearance often associated with loose skin around the arms.
While this procedure is commonly requested by individuals of all genders, particularly those who have undergone considerable weight loss (i.e., bariatric surgery patients), it’s a frequent concern among women. Our surgeons at Forefront have successfully performed numerous arm lifts, enabling our patients to feel self-assured and comfortable in skin-baring apparel again.

What is arm lift surgery like?
Every arm lift surgery begins with a consultation with one of our surgeons who will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your concerns and personal goals. The doctor will then examine you and tell you what they can accomplish. They will also advise you about what the arm lift will involve for your specific case.
During the arm lift process, the surgeon will remove excess skin and fat via strategically placed incisions, carefully reshaping your upper arms. The remaining skin will be draped over the slimmer contours and sutured into place.
The procedure involves anesthesia to assure your continuous comfort. Some patients may prefer combined processes, like an upper body lift, which could prolong the procedure length. Post-surgery, your arms will be bandaged and swathed in compression garments to support the healing process and minimize swelling.
Choosing the right surgeon entails making a deeply personal decision. We welcome all questions and strive to create an environment where you feel at- ease asking for clarification. We’re committed to ensuring you are entirely comfortable with your decision to entrust your surgery to the Forefront team.
Recovering after arm lift surgery
After your arm lift surgery, you should plan for at least a week of downtime. Further, activity restrictions apply for four to six weeks post-operation. During the recovery stage, some bruising, soreness, and swelling may occur, which can be managed effectively with prescribed pain medication. A mild degree of swelling may persist for several weeks to months following the procedure.
Our skilled clinical team will remove your sutures as part of a post-operative assessment and will continue to meticulously monitor your healing progress.
