Joseph Hanson, MD, FAAD

Dr. Joseph Hanson joined the staff of Tennessee River Dermatology in 2004. He specializes in cutaneous surgery, cosmetic dermatology and management and treatment of inflammatory dermatoses.

Dr. Hanson graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Alabama, where he was awarded the Academic Achievement Award in General Biology. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He performed his internship at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Hanson completed his residency at the University of Tennessee at Memphis Dermatology Program. He is licensed to practice medicine in Alabama.

Dr. Hanson is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has been involved in dermatologic research and has been published.
