Roderick Hood

Rod received his B.S. as a Physician Associate while serving in the U.S.A.F. He has been a member of the NCCPA since 1981. While spending 2 years overseas in Japan, he cared for 3500 active-duty personnel and their dependents. Upon returning to the United States, he worked at Maricopa County E.R., Mayo clinic Scottsdale, Cigna, Scottsdale Healthcare. As a Physician Assistant in Dermatology, he has enjoyed the opportunity of practicing general dermatology for 20 years in association with two past medical school dermatology professors.

He has developed a keen awareness and passion for understanding and treating all skin conditions. Rod has two daughters and four grandchildren living in the upper peninsula area. He and his wife enjoy gardening, thrift store shopping, and family activities.

The most rewarding part of dermatology is identifying and treating skin conditions and seeing the real impact those treatments have on patients’ lives.
