Sarah Simpson, MD, FAAD
Dr. Sarah Simpson earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine in 2018, followed by completion of an internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at Carilion Clinic Medical Center in 2022. She finds dermatology to be the perfect medical specialty, incorporating her love of patients with challenging medical aspects such as oncology, immunology, and rheumatology. She enjoys forming strong patient relationships and making a difference to those struggling with dermatologic conditions. She is skilled in early skin cancer detection along with a variety of other medical and pediatric dermatologic treatments.
Dr. Simpson understands the challenges patients face when seeking medical care and strives to provide a streamlined process that patients can appreciate to provide an exceptional experience. She encourages an open communication relationship to optimize your medical visit. She has a strong passion for children and pediatric dermatology. During her last year of residency, she tailored her schedule to have a strong pediatric base and was often the “go to” for interesting and complex pediatric cases. Additionally, she is a member of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and regularly attends society meetings and continuing education in pediatrics. While Dr. Simpson focuses primarily on medical and pediatric dermatology, she also offers limited cosmetic treatments, including botulinum toxins and superficial to medium-depth chemical peels.
Dr. Simpson is very grateful to serve the community of Smith Mountain Lake. She grew up spending many summers in this area and was fortunate to spend time during her residency practicing in this area. She lives in Moneta and enjoys spending time with her two young children and husband enjoying life on the lake!
