Sami McCarty, MPA, PA-C
Sami is a board certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is originally from Leitchfield, Kentucky and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Brescia University. After receiving her undergraduate degree she worked for the University of Louisville conducting brain and spinal cord injury research. She then worked in the biotherapeutic industry and obtained a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern University.
In 2012 she chose to pursue her love of the field of medicine and began the physician assistant program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She graduated the program with honors in 2015 and began practicing in the field of dermatology. Since graduating, she has had the opportunity to train with one of the top Cosmetic Dermatologists in the area and has developed a passion for both cosmetic and medical dermatology. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Sami is passionate about patient care and medical research and her goal is to build lasting relationships with patients while delivering exceptional care.
Sami lives in Virginia Beach with her husband Ben, a dentist, and two toddlers. When she is not at work or chasing toddlers, she enjoys boating, biking, and spending time with family and friends.
