Sami is a board certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is originally from Leitchfield, Kentucky and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry from Brescia University. After receiving her undergraduate degree she worked for the University of Louisville conducting brain and spinal cord injury research. She then worked in the biotherapeutic industry and obtained a Master’s degree in Regulatory Affairs from Northeastern University.

In 2012 she chose to pursue her love of the field of medicine and began the physician assistant program at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She graduated the program with honors in 2015 and began practicing in the field of dermatology. Since graduating, she has had the opportunity to train with one of the top Cosmetic Dermatologists in the area and has developed a passion for both cosmetic and medical dermatology. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Sami is passionate about patient care and medical research and her goal is to build lasting relationships with patients while delivering exceptional care.

Sami lives in Virginia Beach with her husband Ben, a dentist, and two toddlers. When she is not at work or chasing toddlers, she enjoys boating, biking, and spending time with family and friends.

I was greeted kindly and courteously. After a short wait I was put placed in an exam room where the assistant gave was instructions on how to dress for the exam. Sami the PA came into the room with a smile. She was easy to talk to and made a full skin exam easy and I was not uncomfortable at all. I appreciate having such a lively provider in Elizabeth City. I t certainly was my pleasure to meet the whole team.

Like the new office in EC. A bit frustrated with the check in procedure when I did all of their on line check up well in advance and the lobby was full of patients. Arrived 15 minutes early and was called to my appointment 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment -room for improvement there.

Sami and her PA are very friendly and thorough. The front desk staff were not welcoming or friendly- i waited over 10 min for anyone to even show up at the desk. When checking out, 2 staff members were having their own personal conversation- one standing next to the other who was seated at the desk. The person making my next appointments made several errors & I had to correct her. I am so pleased with Dr Sami and her assistant - the front office staff appeared to need more training & customer service guidance.

Two-month follow up visit and what a difference! Menopause had triggered awful acne-like rosacea on my nose. Sami took care of me and happy to say it cleared up quickly.
