Martha Arroyo, MD, PhD, FAAD

Martha P. Arroyo, M.D., Ph.D, FAAD is an accomplished dermatologist treating patients with various conditions affecting the hair, skin, and nails throughout northern Illinois, including in Libertyville and Gurnee. Dr. Arroyo is proud to educate patients about their conditions and address their concerns with care and compassion.

Dr. Arroyo offers patients the confidence that comes with having beautiful, healthy skin. She treats common skin conditions like acne, psoriasis, eczema, warts, and moles. She also performs laser surgery, cosmetic surgery, and dermatologic surgery. She is especially interested in detecting and treating psoriasis, vitiligo, and skin cancer.

After receiving her Bachelor of Science in molecular physics and biochemistry from Yale University, Dr. Arroyo went on to the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program at Stanford University earning her MD and PhD. She subsequently did her dermatology residency at New York University Langone Medical Center and was chief resident.

Dr. Arroyo is a published author and frequent lecturer on a variety of dermatological procedures and treatments. She is an active member of the dermatological medical community, advising on emerging technologies and treatments for a multitude of skin conditions. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, International Journal of Women’s Dermatology and Journal of Drugs in Dermatology. Dr. Arroyo has a faculty appointment with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and South College School of Physician Assistant Studies.

A proud Chicago native, Dr. Arroyo spends her free time giving back to the community as a volunteer for the American Academy of Dermatology, Skin Cancer Foundation, Feed My Starving Children, and Boy Scouts of America and is on the board of two local groups, the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory and the Adler Arts Center. Dr. Arroyo is fluent in Spanish.
