Vincenzo Giannelli, MD, FAAD

A Board-certified dermatologist in both Europe and the United States, Dr. Vincenzo Giannelli earned his medical degree and completed his dermatology residency at the the University of Rome. He relocated to Washington, DC and completed an additional residency at Washington Hospital Center GWU. Dr. Giannelli is knowledgeable in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Professional areas of interest include early skin cancer detection and treatment, treatment of acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, and hyperhidrosis.

Dr. Gianelli has been recognized by the Washingtonian eight times as one of the best Dermatologists in the Washington, DC area. He spent 21 years in academics as the assistant clinical professor of dermatology at Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Dermatology Residency program. Dr. Giannelli also served as President of the Washington DC Dermatological Society in 2008 and is currently a member of the AAD advisory board.

This doctor is all about money and not fixing the problem . I came to him with a skin condition that’s was bought on due to stress and life situations . He proceeded to prescribe me over 10 medications none worked the only made the matters worse . He performed a biopsy and the results were generic. He then asked me to get tested for lupus I pushed back in which he laughed and said ok your right I’ll just treat you for eczema. I have never had eczema in my life and from that moment I knew this was an obey grab . America has a weird habit of making people sick so they can get paid through medications , prescriptions , and the mental health aspect . Basically anything to keep YOU SICK . This office is disgusting and the my hire college interns to do their dirty work . I hope if anything they learn to be BETTER providers that actually want to HELP their clients and SOLVE the problem . I usually don't write reviews, but wanted to share my experience. We arrived and the office was packed. Our appointment was at 2:50 and we were not seen until 3:45. We were new patients, and when Dr. Giannelli entered the room he did not even introduce himself or ask my child's name. He asked about the presenting issue and was in and out in 5 minutes. No time to ask questions or follow up. My child did not feel well after the procedure, but he did not stay to check in or follow up. It felt like he was checking a box with this appointment. Also, there was no soap in the hallway bathroom. The front desk staff was kind enough to let me use a staff bathroom, but still this is generally unhygienic and bad practice.

This office is ok however when you need a refill , you can never get hold of anyone. I have been calling for two weeks and have emailed and no one is returning my calls or replying to my email. What’s the point of having a doctor that won’t even reply to a prescription refill?
