Diego Ruiz Dasilva, MD, FAAD

Dr. Diego Ruiz Dasilva is an Ivy-League trained, board-certified dermatologist practicing in Virginia Beach and Hampton, Virginia. He was born in Brazil and raised in South Florida where he attended the University of Miami for his undergraduate degree and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society. He graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Art History, Biology, and Chemistry. Dr. Dasilva was then granted a full scholarship to attend the prestigious Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He subsequently completed his internship and Dermatology Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the top-ranked dermatology residency program in the country. He received rigorous training in adult and pediatric dermatology at some of the nation’s best hospitals with world-renowned experts in dermatology which allowed him to develop an expertise in chronic pruritus, psychodermatology/dysesthesia, skin of color, skin cancer, nail surgery, and cosmetics.

Dr. Dasilva has authored several scientific papers in prestigious publications such as the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and the Dermatology Online Journal.

Dr. Dasilva specializes in both pediatric and adult dermatology, practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. In his free time, he enjoys playing/watching basketball, exercising, wine tasting, traveling, and spending time with his wife, young son, and daughter. He’s thrilled to become a part of this beautiful community.

Dr. Dasilva is fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

This office is top-notch. It is an extremely well run organization. With all of the people waiting in the smaller reception area they still managed to get you in pretty close to on time and still spend time with you without their hand on the door knob and they really listen to you. Some scary stuff happens at the dermatologist office, and Dr. DeSilva is more like a therapist with the hands of a dermatologist and skilled surgeon!

Dr.Dasilva is the best dermatologist. He got my rosacea under control. For aging, he recommends the best products and the best course of action. He is not the one that oversells he does what you need and recommends what you need. I also feel great with him for all of my skin shots. He is a kind caring person as well as a great doctor. I can’t recommend him enough.

I wasn't happy with the receptionist tell me my results from a scalp examination in the waiting area were people was in the waiting area. I am still not sure what it means and can I be treated regarding what I was told. I do have a follow up appointment and hopefully I will get a clear answer.
