Luke Hyder, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Luke A. Hyder MD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist and Board-Certified and Fellowship-trained Mohs and Reconstructive Surgeon specializing in skin cancer treatment.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, he attended the United States Military Academy where he achieved USMA Deans List. After two years, he transitioned to Brooklyn College to complete his pre-med training and achieved honors with dual degrees in Chemistry and Biology in 2008.
Dr. Hyder completed his medical school training at Stony Brook University where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During his medical school training, Dr. Hyder additionally went on to complete a one-year research fellowship at the prestigious Rockefeller University where he investigated biomarkers in psoriasis.
He pursued post-doctoral training as a medical intern in Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island and then afterward completed Dermatology residency at Stony Brook University. During residency, Dr. Hyder served as Chief Resident of both the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Northport VAMC), and of the Stony Brook Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. Hyder then continued his training at Florida State University, where he completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology. His fellowship training included reconstructive surgery training under the guidance of a plastic surgeon.
In his leisure time, Dr. Hyder enjoys the outdoors, hiking and kayaking.
