M. Shellie Marks, MD, FAAD

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Maria “Shellie” Marks graduated summa cum laude from the CALS Honors Program at the University of Florida. Dr. Marks received her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine in 2006 where she graduated in the top of her class. She was the recipient of the FSU College of Medicine Student Research Award, the John A. Johson MD Scholarship and a Women’s Dermatologic Society Medical Student Awareness Program grant.

Dr. Marks performed research trials at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Dermatology Clinical Research Fellow prior to starting her dermatology residency at UAB. She participated in numerous research studies and has been published in multiple medical journals. Dr. Marks truly enjoys medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology. She has special interests in treating acne, psoriasis, and skin cancer as well as performing surgery and laser treatments.

Dr. Marks is married with two wonderful daughters.
