Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Board-Certified Dermatologist Dr. Monica Van Acker feels fortunate to practice in her hometown. She realizes it is an absolute privilege to return home and provide care to the community that shaped her into the woman and physician she is today. As a provider, Dr. Van Acker makes it a point to build a trusting relationship with each patient she meets. She is confident in her ability to deliver cutting edge research and evidence based care to her patients while providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to make the best decisions in regard to their healthcare. According to Dr. Van Acker, "I personally invest my time and interest into each patient as if they are my family. Each of my patients will receive the time and respect they deserve when addressing their medical concerns. These characteristics and so many more are reasons why I would feel honored to be selected as your dermatologist."

Dr. Van Acker evaluates and creates customized treatments plans for a wide variety of dermatological concerns including, but not limited to: rashes, acne, aging skin, autoimmune connective tissue disease, skin cancer, blistering disease, birth marks, nail disease, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, excessive sweating, ring worm, rosacea and pediatric skin disease.

In addition, she takes special interest in providing cosmetic treatments that provide an overall well-rested and more youthful appearance. These treatments include, but are not limited to: Botox®, dermal fillers, chemical peels, double chin/fat reduction, microneedling and scar revision.

Dr Van Acker is the best! She found one mark that turned out to be cancer. I had it removed. She also prescribed me the right ointments etc to clear and maintain my skin issues, Great, Personable, follows up, Surgeons and Staff are all nice and helpful as well! Would highly recommend her! Dr. VanAcker is wonderful. She always is positive and upbeat and makes you feel that you are being heard. I saw Monica Van Acker for a yearly skin cancer check. She her team were very efficient and friendly. I didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes in the exam room before Dr. Van Acker arrived. She’s always upbeat and pleasant while she examines every possible area: scalp, back, underarms, bottom, feet, ears, face, the whole 9 yards. Meanwhile, she’s asking how I’m doing, do I have any concerns or questions, plus she’s inquiring about my personal summer plans, etc. She spotted two areas on my face that she zapped because they might be cancerous. This is somewhat painful, but she’s caring & complementary as I get through it quickly and easily. I already have an appointment for next year‘s whole body skin cancer check.

I love this office. The staff...my physician Dr. Van Acker. They are all TOP SHELF! You won't feel that get in and get out thing as from so many medical offices. Not a conveyor belt in sight! And Dr. Van Acker is a careful diagnostician who takes her patients seriously instead of worrying about how she'll get to bill for her services.
