Kamal Chantal completed an undergraduate degree in athletic training at Longwood Univeristy in 2002. He went on to earn a master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Lock Haven University in 2004. Following his training, he moved to upstate New York and worked in orthopaedic surgery for 2 years.

He moved back to his home state of Virginia in 2006 and worked in orthopaedic/spine surgery until joining RidgeView Dermatology in January of 2017.

Kamal and his wife Alexis have 2 children. They enjoy cooking, gardening, and horseback riding as a family. He also enjoys playing golf.

Kamal is always very thorough. He discovered my melanoma in 2019, and has always been kind, compassionate and caring. The staff is friendly. Checking in is quick. It is easy to make follow-up appts.

I have been seen by several dermatologist in my life, but Kamal Chantal is one of the best. He found the meds to help calm my skin (psoriasis) and I have had great success. I recently had a mole diagnosed with melanoma and he has been a wonderful support to refer me to oncologist as well as with my skin checks. Love the staff. They play awesome music which helps lighten the mood when skin checks can bring some anxiety. Clean. Professional. Exceptional service.

My husband and I both see Mr. Chantal and are really pleased with his care. I do have a complaint about the inability to contact the office directly should an appointment need to be changed. It took me about 10 minutes to cancel and rebook an appointment because the phone seems to be answered by a third party who seems like they are from another country.
