I talk with Dr. Brooks and I felt he told me the best advice that Mohs surgery is the gold standard, highly precise treatment for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). It involves removing the tumor layer-by-layer, examining each layer under a microscope on-site. This process is repeated until all cancer cells are gone, yielding cure rates of up to 99% for new cases while preserving healthy. And I will keep going to Dr. Brooks at Atlantic Shore Dermatology. Great facility.

Yesterday I had surgery with Dr. Brooks and his assistant Katie. I couldn't have been more pleased with the care they provided. Dr. Brooks took as much time as I needed to address my concerns and he explained exactly what he would be doing. He patiently answered my questions and reassured me about the procedure to alleviate any anxiety I had. Katie was so caring. She helped me to get positioned correctly and frequently asked me how I was doing and if I needed anything. They both worked efficiently together as a team and with their expertise I felt no pain and the procedure was quickly completed and concluded successfully. I highly recommend their services. You will be in skilled capable and caring hands!
