J. Michael Webb, MD, FAAD, FACMS

Dr. Michael Webb founded Tennessee River Dermatology in 1997. He specializes in the treatment of skin cancer.

Dr. Webb received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Birmingham-Southern College where he was elected into Kappa Mu Epsilon National Mathematics Honor Society. Dr. Webb was an award student at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He performed his internship and a second year of residency in Internal Medicine, and then completed a three year residency in Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Webb also was selected as a Dermatologic Surgery Fellow by Vanderbilt University where he completed an intense one year fellowship further advancing his skills and experience in skin cancer treatment and reconstruction.

Dr. Webb is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Founding Member of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and has the distinction of being among the first surgeons to achieve board certification in the field of Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Webb received the “pioneer award” as a founding participant of the American College of Mohs Surgery MohsAIQ registry, demonstrating his commitment to quality assurance and ethical practices in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

Dr. Webb is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Webb was elected into the American College of Mohs Surgery in recognition of his commitment to excellence in dermatologic surgery. He has completed over 20,000 cases of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

Dr. Webb was elected President of the Alabama Dermatology Society in 2000 and has served as a Medicare and BCBS of Alabama representative. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Alabama.

Dr. Webb has authored numerous articles in national medical journals as well as a chapter in the leading textbook on Mohs Micrographic surgery. He has also lectured at the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr.,M. Webb and Assistants, and Mollie Johnson were polite, helpful, explained the procedures to me , and did an outstanding job with patient services, during my prep work prior to my surgical procedure; and during my surgery, and with the stitches inside skin, and outside. And cauterizing my skin where bleeding was present. Nice patch was placed on my surgery area, and post op care was great; and received a prescription for a Antibiotic, which I am taking, and told me to take Tylenol for the pain, and use of a cold pack every hour for 20 mins each till bedtime. Instructed me to leave my surgical Patch on for 48 hours, as is instructed in my hand out paperwork care, post- op. Will use a good ointment on my surgery area, when I use my own patch or large bandaid. Also was given two more sample tubes of Aquaphor, which I find very helpful, for my facial area as directed. I keep a large tube at home, where I purchase at Walmart. It is really great! Thanks so much! I use Singing River Derma
