J. Michael Webb, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Dr. Michael Webb founded Tennessee River Dermatology in 1997. He specializes in the treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Webb received his Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Birmingham-Southern College where he was elected into Kappa Mu Epsilon National Mathematics Honor Society. Dr. Webb was an award student at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. He performed his internship and a second year of residency in Internal Medicine, and then completed a three year residency in Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Webb also was selected as a Dermatologic Surgery Fellow by Vanderbilt University where he completed an intense one year fellowship further advancing his skills and experience in skin cancer treatment and reconstruction.
Dr. Webb is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a Founding Member of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and has the distinction of being among the first surgeons to achieve board certification in the field of Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
Additionally, Dr. Webb received the “pioneer award” as a founding participant of the American College of Mohs Surgery MohsAIQ registry, demonstrating his commitment to quality assurance and ethical practices in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Dr. Webb is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Webb was elected into the American College of Mohs Surgery in recognition of his commitment to excellence in dermatologic surgery. He has completed over 20,000 cases of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Dr. Webb was elected President of the Alabama Dermatology Society in 2000 and has served as a Medicare and BCBS of Alabama representative. He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Alabama.
Dr. Webb has authored numerous articles in national medical journals as well as a chapter in the leading textbook on Mohs Micrographic surgery. He has also lectured at the American Academy of Dermatology.
