Eman Hijab, MD

Dr. Eman Hijab graduated from the University of Michigan in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Evolutionary Anthropology and completed an honors thesis in her field of study. She went on to earn her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 2022, where she served as Class President and was actively involved in leadership and curriculum development initiatives focused on equity and medical education. She then completed her dermatology residency training at Duke University School of Medicine, where she served as Academic Chief Resident and helped lead resident education through didactics, journal clubs and Grand Rounds programming. 

Dr. Hijab specializes in medical dermatology and cares for adult patients with a wide range of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, rashes, and other disorders of the hair and skin. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized care while helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their skin. 

Medical education has remained a central focus throughout Dr. Hijab’s career. She has developed and delivered dermatology curricula for medical students, residents, and community providers, with interests in complex medical dermatology, skin of color education, and improving diagnostic confidence among non-dermatology healthcare workers. In addition to her educational work, she has authored multiple publications and presentations in dermatology education, cultural humility, and clinical dermatology research. 

Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to return to the Midwest and looks forward to caring for patients in the local community.
