What is BIOCORNEUM®?
BIOCORNEUM® is an advanced scar treatment that is applied to the skin as a topical gel. Its treatment is effective for scars resulting from surgical or cosmetic procedures, trauma, wounds, and burns.
BIOCORNEUM® helps to:

- reduce hypertrophic (raised, red) scarring
- minimize keloid formation
- decrease darkening caused by sun exposure
- restore the softness and flexibility of scarred skin
How does BIOCORNEUM® work?
BIOCORNEUM®’s key ingredient is Silishield™. Silishield™ is an FDA-approved medical-grade silicone that uses patented crosslinking technology.
Silicone is only effective when it is in contact with the skin. Most products must be held in place with silicone sheeting—a mesh or fabric wound dressing. In contrast, BIOCORNEUM® with Silishield™ adheres to the affected area for 12 to 24 on its own, forming a comfortable, invisible barrier. This makes BIOCORNEUM® ideal for treating scars in places where bandages are problematic, such as joints or uneven skin surfaces like the tip of the chin or browline.
Silishield™ also contains SPF 30 to protect scars from sun exposure while they heal.
Treatment with BIOCORNEUM®
BIOCORNEUM® is a non-surgical gel available from your Forefront professional. Starting with clean, dry skin, the gel is applied directly to the scar twice daily and should be allowed to dry for at least 15 minutes. BIOCORNEUM® will feel like a second skin as it dries, and it is OK to apply makeup over BIOCORNEUM®.
BIOCORNEUM® is safe, gentle, and easy to use. It should not, however, be applied to damaged or broken skin.
Scars will gradually flatten out and redness will decrease within 60 days for new scars and roughly 90 days for older scars.
