I hadn't been to a dermatologist in well over 15 years, and was so glad to see that Forefront dermatology in Ames IA was not only covered by my ISU staff insurance, but there were many appointments available with Irma Lovic. I looked for other providers and it was going to be months until I could see a dermatologist in Ames. Forefront had appointments available in the next few weeks. Even though I simply wanted a full body scan - if I had a more serious concern - Forefront's availability is great! In hindsight I am so glad I scheduled a proactive full body scan with Irma. She biopsied two areas of concern and one biopsied area needs further treatment. The high tech use of iPads to take pictures for thorough records of skin conditions is great, and their systems to log all dermatologist notes is very integrated and professional. The intake nurse staff provided me with a level of comfort and clarity that exceeded my expectations. I always knew what to expect and what my options were as far as comfort and chaperone attendance during Irma's evaluation. Irma's assessment was extremely thorough and she communicated every observation as she performed her evaluation. I never felt like I needed to ask questions - she informed me of what she observed as she examined my skin making the evaluation very comforting. When I did bring up specific concerns, I was extremely surprised at how easy-going Irma was at addressing my concerns with care and provided me clear options for how to address my concerns. I came into my first visit thinking I'd just get an expert evaluation but left with 3 different skin conditions treated/evaluated - I felt like I got 3 visits in one! After the first visit I had a few questions, and was so pleased that I had the opportunity to speak with Irma directly - easing my concerns and clarifying treatment in a clear easy to understand manner. I had a follow-up treatment today with Irma and the visit was so professional and caring. I felt like Irma could send what I was comfortable with and tailored her treatment accordingly. Irma and her nurse assistant even took the time to help me with an insurance/billing question! Forefront and in particular Irma Lovic has provided not just dermatological care - but also brought me peace of mind. I give her and Forefront my highest recommendation!
