Restylane® can help improve the appearance of wrinkles, volume loss in your cheeks or hands, or thin lips. Restylane® is a line of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that can be used to smooth facial wrinkles, and plump lips and cheeks.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that attracts and retains water.
How does Restylane® work?
Restylane® is an FDA-approved injectable for plumping the lips and filling fine lines around the mouth. A dermatologist injects the filler, which is made from hyaluronic acid, one or two times over the course of two weeks. For thin lips, Restylane® Silk is preferred as it is a thinner product producing fewer lumps and bumps
What can Restylane® treat?
- Thin Lips
- Volume loss in cheeks or hands
What is a Restylane® session like ?
Using a very fine needle, your provider will inject Restylane into the treatment areas. To minimize discomfort, numbing agents may be applied before treatment, but since Restylane Silk also contains lidocaine, the injections are not painful and discomfort is minimal. Depending on your individual treatment needs, a series of injections may be required over a two-week period. Most treatment sessions take about 30 minutes to complete. There is no downtime associated with Restylane, so you can go about your daily activities normally.
